Dr Anne Docherty
Doctor - General Practitioner
About Anne
Anne first achieved an honours degree in Pharmacology in 1992 from the University of Glasgow, Scotland before going on to complete her medical degree in 1997. She completed General practice training in 2003 in the UK. She worked in Germany, Ireland and Scotland in the armed forces before moving to Australia. Anne believes in a patient centred multidisciplinary approach to health. She has delivered care in the Geelong region for 11 years.
Anne has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a special interest in Family Planning and Women’s’ Health. She is accredited to insert both Implanon and Intra Uterine Devices.
In her spare time Anne can be found riding her horse or playing Touch Rugby with her family.

Dr Bettine Schaefer

About Bettine
Bettine completed her GP training in the UK in 1998. She holds specialist registrations in Germany, The United Kingdom and Australia and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
Bettine has special interest in pain management, Diabetes mellitus and mental
health conditions. Over 24 years in General Practice she has developed extensive experience and a passion for management of complex chronic conditions.
As mother of three sons she enjoys seeing families and their children. In her free time she likes to paint and to take her dogs on weekend adventures.

Dr Neil Africa
Doctor - General Practitioner
About Neil
Neil is an Australian Medical Graduate who lives in Torquay. He enjoys seeing the entire age spectrum that any clinician in Primary Care would expect to encounter.
With the shortage of GPs on the Surf Coast, Neil sees that now is an ideal time to engage with the many young families and ensure that comprehensive medical care may be offered in a timely fashion.
Neil has a range of clinical experience and enjoys treating anyone with musculoskeletal injuries, whether sports related or incurred while doing a bit of gardening on the weekend.
He enjoys a good working relationship with many of Geelong and Melbourne Specialists, who are happy to be approached at short notice for advice on anyone requiring more than what Primary care may offer.

Dr Jimmy McLaren
Sports Doctor MBChB, ACSEP registrar, FRACGP
About Jimmy
Jimmy is a doctor at the Geelong Football Club, a World Surf League (WSL) event doctor, consults for the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, and is a Sport and Exercise Medicine registrar.
He treats both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries to improve pain, return to activity, and optimise health and performance. He cares for people of all ages and previously covered the U17 Australian Soccer Joeys team. He also manages medical conditions related to exercise, such as asthma, energy deficiency, disordered eating and mental wellbeing. Jimmy provides ultrasound guided injections where appropriate.
Experience includes covering WSL events such as Bells Beach Pro, Teahupo’o Tahiti, Keramas Bali, and the Longboard and Junior World Championships. He covered the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and was previously a doctor at North Melbourne Football Club. He is currently undertaking research into the reliability of concussion video signs in AFL.
In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, fishing with his wife and walking their dog.

Dr Duke Gordon

About Duke
Duke is from the UK and did his medical training at King’s College London. After a 2 year stint in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, he decided to move to Torquay with his husband, 5 cats and dog.
He is a true generalist, enjoys all aspects of general practice and is a believer in the benefits of chronic disease optimisation. He has an interest in diabetes management, men’s health, women’s health and has a soft spot for aged care medicine and is certified in Implanon insertion and removal. Duke also speaks Spanish.
In his spare time, he likes to read and EAT!! He also likes the time old
cliche of walking on the beach.

Professor Lee Kennedy

About Lee
Lee Kennedy is a UK-trained specialist in Endocrinology and General (Internal) Medicine.
I completed undergraduate training in the University of Edinburgh where I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine for research into thyroid disease.
Postgraduate training was completed in the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield. I completed my PhD in Sheffield with studies on thyroid growth and development.
I hold Fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh and London as well as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. I have a strong track record in research and have published extensively including several books. I have held senior academic and clinical positions, both in the UK and in Australia, and I am currently a Clinical Professor with Deakin University.
Recent qualifications include a Diploma in Fitness, Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach and Diploma in Counselling.

- Weight management – complex health problems associated with obesity
- Endocrinology – including thyroid, bone, pituitary and reproductive

Dr Sachin Khullar

Dr Khullar is a well-qualified and highly skilled Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician. He utilises his experience from both clinic-based practice and working with elite sporting teams and implements a strong evidence-based approach aiming at patient education and equal participation of his patients in their understanding and treatment of their activity-related musculoskeletal problems.
Dr Khullar values respect, compassion, integrity, excellence and targets treating his patients with a holistic approach with a strong belief in the power of mind to help treat chronic musculoskeletal problems.
Dr Khullar is a fellow of Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Medicine which is one the most prestigious qualifications in the world. He has completed his Diploma in Sports Medicine with the International Olympic Committee. He has been active in ongoing research with many publications to his name.
Dr Khullar has many sporting pursuits. One of the highlights of his professional career has been him being a team leader and field of play doctor for Track cycling in Rio Olympics, 2016. He was a part of the medical team of Richmond football club during their premiership year, 2017. He has travelled with Australian elite athletes and has provided expertise to various athletes in gymnastics, boxing, water polo, rugby, cycling, including track cycling, and many other disciplines. He continues to work with AFL and the Vic Metro football team.
He has a keen interest in managing musculoskeletal and sporting injuries in various age groups, especially children and adolescents, as well as chronic tendon and musculoskeletal issues in mature aged populations. Dr Jack Cookson

About Jack
Jack is in the final year of his Sport and Exercise Medicine specialty training. He holds current roles as a Tour Doctor for the Australia A and Australian Men’s Cricket Teams, and in 2026 is the Campaign Doctor for the Australian Swimming Team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Jack has broad experience in sports medicine, having covered a range of sports at the elite level, and spent time at the Australian Institute of Sport, as well as in private practice settings in Canberra and Brisbane as part of his training.
In clinic, Jack sees a broad range of patients – including amateur and elite athletes, children and adolescents, and active middle-aged and older individuals. Jack has clinical interests in the assessment and management of acute knee and shoulder injuries, bone stress injuries, particularly lumbar (pars) stress fractures, tendinopathy and concussion. He is passionate about using exercise to optimise outcomes for all patients, and works alongside GPs, specialists and allied health clinicians to provide comprehensive patient care.
Jack is skilled at interpreting diagnostic imaging (including X-rays, CT and MRI) and is able to provide ultrasound-guided injections where appropriate, including corticosteroid (cortisone), hyaluronic acid (eg. Durolane, Monovisc, Cingal) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
Outside of work, Jack enjoys keeping fit through strength training, running and cycling. He remains actively involved in community sport, and is a single figure handicap golfer. His sporting highlight is representing Australasia in Gaelic Football at the World Games in Ireland.

Dr Rossiter moved to Geelong in 2006 after completing his medical degree and worked at the Geelong, Warrnambool, and Hamilton Hospitals in the emergency department and as a medical registrar until 2013 when he started specialist GP training.

George Atkins
Physiotherapist
About George
George has over ten years’ experience working in private practice and sports physiotherapy settings. In George’s latest role he was the Senior Physiotherapist at the Geelong Football Club (AFL). As well as this experience, George has also worked as the physiotherapist for various sporting teams including Geelong VFL, Geelong VFLW, Geelong Falcons, and Geelong Supercats (Basketball).
Having experience working in the elite sporting environment, George has a systematic approach to injury rehabilitation with a clear focus on patient education and empowerment. George’s commitment to his clients is evident with his desire to complete ongoing professional development as he completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in early 2022.
Whilst he treats all injuries, he has a special interest in acute sporting injuries related to the knee, hip and groin and shoulder as well as lower limb soft tissue and tendon injuries.

Dr Charlie Goodman

About Charlie
Dr Charlie Goodman completed a Bachelor of Science and Arts at Melbourne and Monash Universities, followed by an MBBS at Deakin University in regional and rural Victoria. She has also completed a Diploma of Child Health.
Charlie spent her internship and residency in the Royal Darwin Hospital to explore her interests in tropical medicine and Indigenous health. She moved to the Coffs Coast area in 2016 to undertake her GP training with special interests in anaesthetics, palliative care and emergency medicine.
Charlie is currently completing an Accreditation of Lifestyle medicine with a focus on how lifestyle factors such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep quality, emotional health, social connection and minimising addiction can improve health, longevity and reduce the impact of chronic disease.
Outside of medicine, Charlie enjoys travel, time in nature and spending time with friends and family.

Frank Del Rio studied Medicine at Monash University graduating in 1981. He completed his residency in Medicine and Surgery at Ballarat Hospital, followed by some Paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital and drug and alcohol rehabilitation experience at Greswell. He then studied Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Maternity Hospital and attained his Diploma from the RACOG.
Frank has enjoyed living and working as a general practitioner in Torquay since 1985 and is also fluent in Spanish.

Dr Nick Titheridge graduated from Deakin in 2011 before specialising in General Practice throughout the Melbourne Area. He fellowed with the Royal College of General Practice in 2016 and was employed with the Royal Australian Navy as a Military doctor from 2012 to 2018.
Nick has extensive experience with travel, occupational, musculoskeletal and acute medicine and has previously worked in clinics that have interests in aesthetics, aged care and sexual health.
